The pluots weren't quite ripe last weekend due to to excessive heat that caused the trees to stress so that they slowed down their ripening, but the slightly lower temperatures over the weekend sped the ripening process back up again, so despite this week's heat the pluots should be just about right for us to pick on Saturay, August 11.
We will meet at Webster Park at 10 am and head to the house from there. For folks without cars who have been waiting for a more accessible glean to get involved, this site is right by the 22 bus route and a pleasant bike ride from downtown.
Bring yourself, a water bottle, and closed-toed shoes. Friends, children, and other harvest helpers are always welcome. We'll go over safety concerns and picking instructions and then get started!
